my baby sister is having a baby

My big sister and I hosted a shower for our little sister last night. She is due with her second little girl in just a few weeks, so it was fun to celebrate with a few of her dearest friends.

While laying in bed fighting off a breast infection a few weeks ago, the theme for the shower came to me:

A P R I L S H O W E R S B R I N G M A Y F L O W E R S

We wanted everything to be really flowery and springy with a yummy salad, crusty bread, special sweets and time to honor the mommy-to-be.

And just because I think they are some of the cutest maternity photos, here are a few that were taken last week of my sissy, her husband and the most darling soon-to-be big sister {hope you don’t mind, Hillary!}

  2. What a lovely shower! Congratulations to your little sister - your little nieces are lucky to have wonderful aunts. :) I love the shower theme and all the little touches - so creative! I hope you have completely recovered from your breast infection...I breastfed for a year and had a few clogged ducts, but consider myself very fortunate that I never had to deal with mastitis! Hope that is the worst of it for you and that it is smooth sailing from here on out.

  3. What a beautiful shower. The wrap, the flowers, the food, and the invite! Fantastic. I also love a shower where the host actually welcomes you into their home. It means so much more and is always more enjoyable! Have a great day!

  8. nancy: these are my favorite jeans {i just found & bought a second pair on ebay last week}. They are banana republic classic wideleg. But these particular ones are not made so you'll have to find them on ebay. They have a seam down the leg. Best of luck!

  12. So cute. I love the theme. I'm wishing my friends would have baby girls instead of boys because girly themes are so much more fun. Ruffles? Flowers? Yes please.
